The mortgage was still in effect as of 11 October 1838, when the Snyders sold the mortgaged property (part of Lot 13 in the William Dick Patent) to Benjamin Wendell. As part of that deed, Wendell agreed to assume and pay the mortgage.
Although the full mortgage document has not yet been located, the transaction is referenced in the deed recorded 11 May 1841.
Land Sale 11 Oct 1838 Canajoharie, Montgomery County, New York, United States [4] - Isaac Snyder and his wife Nancy sold 6¾ acres of land in Lot 13 of the William Dick Patent to Benjamin Wendell for $500. The land was located near the Sprout Bridge and bordered Michael Van Deusen's "Closs farm," the Cherry Valley Road, and the Sharon Road. The deed was made subject to a mortgage Isaac and Nancy had executed earlier that year (2 April 1838) to Philip Snyder and Allen Snyder for about $350, which Wendell agreed to pay.
Nancy was examined separately from her husband and acknowledged the sale as her voluntary act. The deed was recorded on 11 May 1841 at 7:00 A.M. in Montgomery County.
