No other Soukup family lived in Remesin at that time. 2. Jiri Soukup married Katerina Vopat on 21 Oct 1692, just seven months before the birth of Jan 3. The mother of Jan Soukup b1693 is Katerina, the same name as the wife of Jiri 4. A child was born in 1695 to Jiri and Katerina about two years after the birth of Jan. This is the traditional time between births in the same family. 5. Five other children of Jiri and Katerina have common godparents to Jan b1693. 6. One of the godparents of Jan b1693 is Anna Vopat, which is the same name as the mother of Katerina Vopat. 7. The birth registers between 1680 and 1710 were reviewed and there were only two Jan Soukups in the area. The second was born in 1701 and he has been ruled out as a member of this family.
