435 Edith had been living with Fred and Leona (Butler) Kaune, but left for Cooperstown when she became ill with influenza because she feared for their children. She lived in Cooperstown with her parents, Frank and Mary Jane McChesney. Frank died in 1921 of influenza (according to Mary Kaune) and Edith returned to Ilion. Butler, Edith (I447)

436 Elmer West filled out a Marriage License Application on 6 Sep 1922 as shown in the Oklahoma, County Marriages, 1890-1995. However, the Marriage License and Certificate of Marriage are blank. It is possible they decided to marry in a different location but no record of that marriage has been found. That notwithstanding, family documents say they were divorced. When Helen remarried in 1934 to McFarland, her surname was recorded as West. And when Elmer remarried in 1927 his marital status was divorced. Helen and Elmer likely got married in 1922 and divorced before 1927.

Family docments have the birth location in Alvaretta, Woods County but since the settlement of Alvaretta was established after the Land Run that occured on Sep 16, 1893 was before James was born, that birth locaiton is not possible. It is reasonable that James A. Pliske was born in Alva or an encampment near Alva while the Plisek family was waiting for the land run to begin one month later.
