2901 The death date is from a genealogical sketch of James' son Peter published in 1890. Since it appears that Peter left Illinois before 1873, it is uncertain whether he had firsthand knowledge of this date. Flitcroft, James (I6048)

2902 The death of Mrs. Adeline Seymour, wife of John Seymour of Litchfield street came as a shock to the people here this morning, when it was announced that she passed to the beyond at 2:30 this morning. She had been ill but a few days, having been confined to her bed only since Sunday. Pneumonia was the cause of her death. She was the daughter of the late George Lints and was born in this town in July 1852 and her whole life had been spent here. In her young womanhood she married John Seymour and five children blessed their union. They are Prof. Eugene Seymour of New Jersey, Ray Herbert of this village and Eva, Mrs. Floyd Rider of Litchfield. She was a lady of retiring disposition, quiet and modest, and had not been in good health for some time but had been able to be about and attend to her daily duties. She was a member of the Methodist Church having joined many years ago. She is survived by her husband and the children named and two brothers, H. G. Lints of DeRuyter and Peter of northern New York, also one half sister, Mrs. Olive Blanford of New Jersey. The funeral will be held from the home Saturday at 2:30 o'clock. Lints, Adeline M. (I330)

2903 The deed states the land in question is the "undivided ninth part of the farm recently owned and occupied by Phillip Lints deceased, Father of the said George Lints and being the farm he owned and occupied up to the time of his decease". The deed was recorded March 8, 1866. Lints, George (I1097)

2904 The family document has the birth locaiton as Jaromerice but that village is over 150k from his father's birth location whereas Jaromerice nad Rokytnou is only 20k from the father's birth location (and where the parents married).. It is likely shortened by someone who did not know that Jaromerice and Jaromerice nad Rokytnou are two very different villages. Nemec, Thomas V. (I1951)

2905 The funeral was held at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc, 203 Second Ave, with the Rev. Nelson K. Lamb, Pastor of the Frankfort United Methodist Church officiating. Contributions to be made to the Shuler Volunteer Fire Dept. or the American Cancer Society. Shaw, Roger A. Sr. (I53)

2906 The genealogical sketch of P.S. Flitcroft (Bricea's son) states that she died in 1868. This cannot be true because she is on the 1870 census in Nashua, Illinois. Snyder, Bricea (I6049)

2907 The given name Nepomucena is derived from John of Nepomuk, saint of Bohemia. Prochazka, Nepomucena (I3314)

2908 The headstone in East Schuyler Cemetery gives her birth year as 1855. Her obituary (27 Jun 1923, Schenectady) states she was 64 years old at death, implying birth about 1858—1859. The headstone date is accepted as more reliable. Bailey, Eugenie (I10467)

2909 The Inventory was presented at Court on the 30th of the month. Warren, Nathaniel (I3809)

2910 The land was a grant from her mother as a marriage portion Warren, Abigail (I3817)

2911 The land was purchased from Hervey Prentice for $1700 in cash. His younger brothers, Walter and Willard, and his older sister, Sarah, cam from Connecticut to live with him. All eventually left when they married. Loomis, George Washington (I74)

2912 The lands were purchased in 1750. No indication as to whether he lived there. Loomis, Elisha (I1070)

2913 The Lucius Barnes Barbour Collection, well known to the Connecticut researcher, serves as an index to and an abstract of most pre-1850 Connecticut vital records. It is housed in the Connecticut State Library, but microfilm copies of it are widely available. Begun after establishment of the State Department of Health, Barbour's project was to abstract and collect all town vital records up to about 1850. There are two formats to the material. The first is a statewide paper slip alphabetical index containing a complete abstract of each vital record taken from the books in each town. The card file holding this index takes up an entire wall at the Connecticut State Library. The second format is the group of separately bound volumes of abstracts of vital records for most towns, prepared from the slips. Source (S112)

2914 The marriage took place at the home of J.W. McChesney in Otsego. The ceremony was conducted by Rev. W. C. Gunn. Family: Horatio McChesney / Cornelia Thayer (F1274)

2915 The marriage took place in the Reformed Church in Herkimer. Witnesses were Joanne Joseph Headcock and Georg Weber. Family: Peter Weaver / Gertrude Sitz (F672)

2916 The name recorded is J. Beznoska implying it is Beznoska Jr. and not his father Frank Sr..

Beznoska, Frank Jr. (I3615)

2917 The obituary states that he was buried in Oak Hill. That is not correct--he was buried in Oak View Cemetery in Frankfort. Knox, Earl Henry (I529)

2918 The Ontario death record lists his place of birth as Waterville, based on his son's information. Loomis, Wheeler Theodore (I61)

2919 The Origine File is the directory of civil status acts and notarial acts found as part of the Franco-Quebec research project on the family origins of French and foreign emigrants established in Quebec from the origins to 1865 (PROFEQ). Since 2001, it includes the names of all individuals, married, single and religious whose birth or baptism certificate has been traced to their countries of origin. Source (S410)

2920 The Oswego Palladium-Times (1 Dec 1933) obituary gave her age as 78, implying a birth year of about 1855. This conflicts with the other obituary stating she was born 19 Oct 1841 and with census and headstone evidence. The 1841 date is accepted as correct Tallman, Margaret M. (I2764)

2921 The PRDH-IGD is a directory of vital events (baptisms, marriages and burials) recorded by the Catholic church in Quebec and French Canada from 1621 to 1849, as well as a genealogical dictionary of families commonly referred to as  "Family Reconstructions". Source (S436)

2925 The ship was named "Lion". White, Elizabeth (I1898)

2926 The surname is recorded as Recak in MyHeritage. The first names and ages match the Jan Rezac family. (Wenzl is the German form of the Czech Vaclav.) The family is heading for Nebraska (where Jan settled). This is highly likely the Jan Rezac family. Rezac, Jan (I2250)

2927 The transcription of Isaac Snyder's death record from Stillwater, NY, states that Isaac's father's name was Andrew. However, that is most likely a misreading of the original handwriting or incorrect informant information. We know from newspaper reports that Isaac sister's was Eliza Alpaugh and her death record from Canajoharie, NY, states that her father's name was Ambrose. Based on land and other records, Ambrose should be correct. Snyder, Ambrose (I8965)

2928 The will gave a third part of the estate to his son "Josyas Hull". Josias and George's second wife, Sarah, were named as executors. Hull, George (I1917)

2929 The year 1871 is on William's headstone, and is his calculated year of birth from a card done for his funeral. But his Irish birth record is for 1869, with the same Month and Day. Ahern, William J. (I158)

2937 There is no offical record of Alan Kucera being buried in the Schuyler Cemetery, only family reports. Find A Grave states "Burial Details Unknown". Kucera, Alan Carl (I2773)

2938 There is some confusion if John's surname is Zitka or Zitko. Both surnames are mostly in Czechia but are not common.

The only clear record found using John Zitka is the 1900 Census record. Early Census records are notorious for unusual surname spellings based upon the familiarity of the Census taker with Bohemian/Moravian names.

The 1910 Census in Cook County, Illinois matches John's children but is missing Marie for some reason. The transcription has Zitka but a close look at the original shows it to be Zitko.

The following records use John Zitko:
1985, possible immigration record has Johann Zitko
1900 Oct 4, Naturalization, Wahoo, Nebraska
1900 Nov 17, marriage to Marie Severin, Cook County, Illinois
1918 Sep 14, draft registration card, Illinois
All of John's children use the surname Zitko. The correct surname is most likely Zitko.

2949 This book is about Czech immigrant settlers in Nebraska and Kansas. It is a list (as of 1891-1895) of Czech settlers names, occupations, where they lived at the time, land they owned or rented, and their place of birth. It also includes county description and description of many of the towns in that county. If an occupation is not specified they were farmers.

The work was done by Frank Mares in the 1890's and published in the Czech agricultural newspaper "Hospodar". Margie Sobotka translated his work into this document.
